This 2 days Rwanda Gorilla trek experience is designed for you to have an encounter with mountain gorillas with an overnight in Volcanoes National Park. It is the classic short version of gorilla trekking in Rwanda. This encounter with a habituated Gorilla group for a full hour is a lifetime experience that every traveler and primate enthusiast must never miss.
Day 1: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and departure
Day 1 of the 2 days Rwanda gorilla trek will begin with our guide picking you from the airport. On arrival and quickly brief you on the trip and then proceed to Kigali city for a short tour, one of the most enjoyable city tours in Rwanda. Kigali is famously known to be the cleanest of all cities in Africa setting Rwanda as a high end destination for travelers.
You will visit the genocide memorial sites, the local markets and the craft shops where you can buy some souvenirs You will then have your lunch in the city and immediately embark on the journey to Ruhengeri in the North towards the park. Many visitors extend the trip with other things to do in Rwanda or a broader Rwanda safari.
This amazing journey takes you 2-3 hours as you enjoy the beautiful scenery of the rolling hills arriving at the lodge in the evening hours. You will stay at a lodge located in the park to easily connect the following morning. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner Accommodation:

Day 2 of the 2 days Rwanda gorilla trek starts with a breakfast at the lodge. Then drive off with your guide to the park offices for briefing by the park rangers on the rules of tracking Gorillas. You will then be allocated groups of Gorillas to track into the forest to search for these habituated forest giants.
After several hours of hiking into the thick undergrowth, you will meet the gorillas family. An encounter with a silverback is most of the times the highlight of this trip . The Gorillas are seen feeding, taking care of the young and others playing depending on the time and mood of the day.
Visitors are then allowed to be with the Gorillas for one full hour as they learn about their behavior. After this wonderful experience, you will return to the starting point, meet your guide and head to the lodge for lunch and drive back to Kigali city for departure. Meal Plan: Breakfast/Lunch.
