2 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking through Rwanda

This 2 Day Bwindi double gorilla trek through Kigali will take you to trek the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is one of the most popular ways to experience gorilla trekking in Uganda, and the itinerary is a 2-day itinerary.

Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from your hotel and start on your 2-day Bwindi Gorilla trek through Kigali

You will be picked from your hotel in Kigali to start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey is very scenic and will take you through a country of a thousand hills to the Pearl of Africa; travellers short on time often compare it with gorilla trekking in Rwanda from the same Kigali base. You cross over to Uganda through the boarder for a stop at Kabale where you will have your lunch enroute before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking. The park ranger will take you through all the dos and don’ts of trekking while with mountain gorillas. After, you will be transferred to the starting point of your allocated gorilla family. Please note that gorilla family allocation depends on your interests, fitness and age. In case of any personal interests in trekking speak to the park ranger and he will try to request for the gorilla family of your choice before you start the trek into the forest. Gorilla trekking can be strenuous and a certain level of fitness is required.  Gorilla trekking is considered a full day activity but it can take place between a few hours and a full day depending on where the family will be found that day. Your ranger guide will try to provide information about the habitat of the forest and other wildlife in the forest until you reach a given gorilla family. Gorilla trekking is the star attraction among things to do in Uganda, and it pairs well with our wider Uganda safaris. You will be allowed only one hour of photography and observing mountain gorillas as they go about with their daily day activities and then trek back to the park headquarters to pick your certificates. Have lunch and depart back to Kigali for your drop off.
