Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your journey starts from Entebbe International Airport where you will board a domestic flight to Kihihi. A representative from African Safari Trails will be waiting at Kihihi Airstrip to drive
you to the lodge. The approximately one-hour drive runs along a beautiful dip into villages and skirts steep hills with stunning views of the lake below. Offering some of the best views in Uganda. The way to the park is overlooks the volcanoes from the Virunga Range rising out of the mist in the distance. Meal Plan: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

ACCOMMODATION: Buhoma Lodge/Gorilla leisure lodge/Volcanoes gorillalodge/Sanctuary retreat.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Encountering the rare and endangered mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is an experience of a lifetime. In the company of an experienced park ranger, you will be tracking the whereabouts of one of the nine habituated family groups who reside here. This is the fly-in version of the region’s most sought-after adventure, gorilla trekking in East Africa. Your tracking experience will be an exciting, yet challenging, journey along forested (often muddy and slippery) slopes, tangled vines, thick vegetation, and bamboo forests before you reach the territory of these gentle giants. En route, your ranger will point out telltale signs of
previous gorilla activity, like dung, nests, and chewed bamboo shoots. Depending on the location of the gorillas, on any given day the walk can take anything from 2 to 7 hours. Once the family of gorillas has been located, you will settle into your surroundings and enjoy the hour
you have to quietly observe these fascinating primates. Gorilla tracking ranks among the top things to do in Uganda and is the centrepiece of many of our Uganda safaris. Meal Plan:
Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

I had the best experience from beginning to end, my every whim was catered to. My guide Howard was knowledgeable, kind and went above and beyond. I absolutely loved my gorilla trekking experience!

★★★★★

The best experience ever. Lydia and Howard looked after us from start to finish and the customer service was 5 stars. We did Queen Elizabeth Park, gorilla trekking and the Batwa community visit, a time I will never forget.

★★★★★

An amazing experience. Lydia planned my 7-day trip perfectly in every detail, and my driver Jack was the best guide I ever had, he even spotted a leopard up in the trees in the Ishasha Section.
