8 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari to Kidepo

Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala city tour

You will be picked by our guide from your hotel after breakfast and do a city tour around Kampala which will include a visit of the royal mile and Kasubi tombs.

Meal plan: Lunch/Dinner.

Day 2: Transfer to jinja and Visit source of the Nile

In the morning after breakfast, you will transfer to Jinja where you will visit the source of the Nile. The river Nile is the longest river in the world. It flows from Uganda all the way to Mediterranean Sea after passing through several countries like South Sudan, Sudan, Ethiopia and finally Egypt. Using a speed boat, tourists can go to the point where the river begins its journey to the sea. John Speke was the first European to discover the source of the Nile in 1858. The site where Speke stood and first spotted the source has been turned into a park with beautiful garden that are perfect for relaxation and marvelling at the river Nile. It is one of the most visited places on our Uganda safaris. One needs to take a boat to go up to the exact place considered the source of the Nile. After the days activity retire to the hotel and slumber.

Day 3: Transfer to Mbale

In the morning after breakfast proceed to Mbale. On your way you will have a glance at the beauty of Uganda and have lunch enroute. Upon arrival at your lodge, you will retire for the night.

Day 4: Transfer to Kidepo and visit manyatta

In the afternoon you shall go on a tour of the Karamojong community near the park and experience their unique way of life which is still authentic. The Karamojong will show you their unique housing called the Manyatta, inform you about their traditions, and entertain you with their traditional dancing.

Day 5: All day game drive:

Today you shall do a full day game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park. You will explore the Narus Valley in the south of the park which is the greener part of the park and has the only permanent water sources. As result the south hosts most of the animals in Kidepo National Park. Later you would transfer to the Kidepo Valley in the north of the park. The north is drier and has less animals but is a unique wilderness with the dry sandy bed of Kidepo river that is beautiful lined with palm trees, hot springs.

Optional tour activity:

Night safari: you can do a night safari after dusk and look for the nocturnal animals.

Day 6: Transfer to Murchison

Early in the morning, you will be picked from your accommodation facility by our guide and you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. You will be able to enjoy the journey with the sighting of beautiful landscapes, history and so on among others. You will have lunch enroute and later on reaching you will check in into the lodge where you will retire for the night.

Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

In the early morning embark on another morning thrilling game drive where still you might come across wildlife you had not sighted the day before. Enjoy the drive, take pictures and return to the lodge for lunch and prepare for an afternoon boat cruise at the bottom of the falls. You will be able to spot different aquatic wildlife like hippos, crocodiles, water birds among others. After the activity return to the lodge, have dinner and slumber.

Day 8: Visit the top of the falls and departure back to Kampala

After breakfast in the morning, you will visit the Murchison falls top on your way back to Kampala where you will experience the wonders of God’s creation and the most powerful falls in the whole of the world. Remember to carry a light jacket because you might get drenched. After the visit proceed with your departure back to Kampala and have lunch enroute.
