This 4 days Gorillas and Golden monkey experience will introduce you to the amazing life of these apes in the jungle.
On day 1 of the 4 days Rwanda primate safari, our guide will pick you from the airport on arrival, brief you about the trip and immediately get on the journey transferring to the Northern side of Rwanda to Ruhengeri district. Enjoy the stunning beauty of the countryside and the fresh breeze are a great reward for your 2-3 hours’ journey. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge. Meal Plan: Lunch/Dinner
Day 2 of the 4 days Rwanda primate safari will begin with breakfast at the lodge. After, you will set off to the park offices. You will gather with others tourists for a briefing on the rules for Gorilla Trekking.
You will be guided to the forest in search of the habituated Gorillas as allocated to your group. After a few hours of trekking through the thick undergrowth, you will meet the Gorillas in their group going about their daily activities of feeding, taking care of their young ones and playing. The Silverback is normally seen guarding the family against the intruders and this will be a highlight for this tracking experience.
After the experience, return to the starting point after this amazing wild experience with the Gorillas and meet your guide transferring you to the lodge tor relaxation and lunch. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner.
Day 3 of the 4 days Rwanda primate safari begins with a tasty breakfast at the lodge. After head to the park offices for briefing on the rules for tracking the Golden Monkeys.
Unlike Gorillas, Golden monkeys are a little easier to track from their natural habitat. They live in the Virunga mountains in the volcanoes National Park. Lucky visitors will meet a gorilla family but will not interact with them since it’s not their target on this day.
After meeting the golden monkeys in their group, tourists will be allowed to spend a full hour with them as you get all your questions answered by the guides.
Return to the starting point to meet your guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Wake up at leisure on your last day of the 4 days Rwanda primate safari, have breakfast and drive back to Kigali for a city tour. You will visit the historical genocide memorial grounds and the craft shops in this beautiful city, among the many things to do in Rwanda. Have lunch and drive to the airport for departure.
