5 Days Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari

Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up, drive up to Bwindi via Equator crossing

Following your hefty breakfast, get a short briefing from your safari leader while still at the hotel facility. Have everything you require on a trip packed in the car and start your long journey towards the Southwestern Uganda through the Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara road. Today’s road trip includes a stopover at the Kayabwe Equator crossing for photography and after, proceed to have lunch enroute hotel at Mb. Driving from Kampala to Bwindi comes with great sights seeing en-route. On arrival, check in at your accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full day Encounter with the mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Early morning, depart from the lodge for briefing at the park offices. The Park guide will escort you on a search for a family of endangered mountain gorillas. Today’s trek takes you on a deep immersion into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for unforgettable gorilla trekking, and expect to spend 2-8 hours which includes observing how these apes behave and photography. After this, you will go back to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, embark on your journey to the Chimpanzee capital Kibale National Park. On your way enjoy the beautiful landscapes, and other sceneries. You will have lunch enroute. On your arrival, check into your lodge and slumber.

Day 4: Trekking chimpanzee and an optional Bigodi nature walk

In the morning after an early breakfast, you will embark on your chimpanzee trekking adventure in the Kibale Forest National Park. Following an early morning breakfast, be ready for half-day primate expedition through the lush Kibale Forest national Park. Trekking with Kibale chimpanzees begins from Kanyanchu Primate Walk, lasting for hours depending on where the chimpanzees have nested on that particular day. This remarkable primate walk includes an hour of observing how the chimpanzees behave and taking photos.

In addition, do not miss to spot dozens of other primates and birds then get back to be served lunch. After lunch you can go for an optional Bigodi nature walk where you will be able to spot different primates, bird species among others.
